Comprehensive benefits package that does not cut corners. Takes into consideration most extenuating circumstances and is understanding in terms of joining/leaving the company.
They only offer a 4% 401k match and there is no additional vacation time after so many years of service
Standard health insurance and retirement plans, and some kind of employee / owner private stock options. Couldn't sell the stock in public markets.
9 standard holidays (does NOT include Friday after Thanksgiving); 2 weeks vacation to start (3 weeks after year four, and 4 weeks after year ten); 401K has $1/$1 match up to 3% and $0.50/$1 up to 6%); health insurance is average (which means poor since ObamaCare); NO BONUSES; raises average 1% and in recent years maxed out at 2% according in management
Health insurance through Vanguard, or BCBS. Can even have health insurance for your cat or dog...no joke. Also have 401k, and a unique benefit of what essentially boils down to short term disability funds.
great people and great environment
Only health insurance is HSA and it is terrible. If you make too much money they do not contribute as much. Out of pocket maximums and deductibles are also really high. You basically pay for everything.
Overall SAIC has a fair benefits package. They are working continuously to improve their options and every year we get a bit more added to the plans without a big jump in costs. I'm happy with the offerings.
My fringe package gives me 6% of my salary towards 401(k), which is pretty respectable. 19 days PTO per year covers both leave and sick time. We went to ten holidays per year a couple of years ago. Overall, I'm happy... nothing spectacular, but better than an awful lot of employers these days.
The only company perk was the complete lack of caring by any of the employees or management. Everyone was there to sit at their desk, maybe do 20 minutes of work, and leave. So, the bar was very very low and you could generally get away with slacking off all day.
