It's a great pension plan, because everyone whom was or is employed by SEIU continue to add a percentage amount of money every year till one retires.
Pension what more must I say.
Again, a pension only offered now to a select few who work for the government or the military.
Great that a plan is offered. Not so great that there are no partial pensions BUT there is one -- a rarity these days.
It's a defined benefit pension plan, which is basically the best plan you can have (and as a union/organization that is very familiar with running pension plans, they run it very well). You vest after 5 years (the benefit obviously increases the longer you work there), and after that you get a statement basically saying, "When you retire you will get $x per month [for as long as you live]."
