You don't get a set amount of paid time off or vacation hours. You can sign up for them and earn them, which is fine, but you don't earn enough pto at a quick enough rate for it to be worth it. They have about 4 days worth of stuff happens hours that you can miss in a 6 month period before you begin getting written up. If you go over 30 hours, you get a verbal warning. Over 40 you get a written. Over 50 you get a written. And over 60 they can terminate you. This is only if you've actually been getting reprimanded. We have people who have missed over 100 hours on verbal warning because they didn't discipline the person soon enough, but have to follow policy.
It is amazing! They work with anyone in any kind of situation who is needing time off.
you have to be there for awhile to receive benefits
Don't allow you to use oto
Had to work too many long hours just to accumulate `1 day off. Ludicrous. in 2 years only 2 weeks accumulated.
We used to get 4 weeks after your 10 years and it was reduced to 3 weeks.
This is below average time off, too complicated
slow to build of any significant paid time off
Where do I start? As you probably know the United States has some of the worst protection laws for employees of any civilized country. Sykes is no exception. In fact if I could write the book on how to create horrible benefits for paid time off and vacations then they would probably lead the corporate community. Reason I say this is that in order to get a vacation with Sykes or any kind of paid time off you must be there for more than a year and at that time then you qualify within 6 months after that you actually have to wait 18 months to take a vacation it's like nothing I 've ever heard of.. such a thing... before. This place is a real winner. God help you if you get sick, even trying to get unpaid emergency leave is like pulling teeth.
unless your exempt managment don't expect much
