“It's better than some places. But since they cannot pay according to cost of living, I'd hope they'd raise the amount of PTO earned. ”
“get 80 hours a year for sick leave which is pretty standard with all employers”
Health Insurance is great. Good range of doctors to choose from on the HMO program Co-payments are minimal and service is great!
The benefits go up each year so any raise that you get will be eaten up by the cost of benefits.
You have the option to pick Kaiser or blue shield
There is a match (of sorts) for your 457b contributions and some choice in health insurance options. Vacation time off is a bit sstingy.
The pension is phenomenal. You can retire with a very high monthly rate depending on how long you remain with the county.
You have to pay for it.
Pros: Job stability, EAP, Networking possibilities Cons: Long hours, and the usual work drama
Good benefit package.
health insurance reasonable price, good pension plan, no match with 457
Healthcare is a huge downside for this county. 30K employees and HR/Benefits can't seem to negotiate baller benefits? We either need new negotiators or we need to investigate where all this money is going....
