I've heard horror stories of procedures not being covered by SCADs insurance plan, and others who've said it's fabulous. Personally, I've appreciated the insurance benefits and found both my medical and dental insurance to be so cost effective, it's almost as if I'm not paying at all. Overall, I'd rate these benefits to be top notch.
Full tuition benefit for dependents is a nice benefit (one course per quarter for yourself and spouse also). Retirement match could be better.
No real sick leave or pay. Missed classes must be made up, yet students aren't required to attend.
The vacation time was earned in .5 increments monthly making it next to impossible to accrue time.
The best benefits to being a resident assistant at SCAD Atlanta was a free meal plan and a room to yourself.
401K matching is good. Absolutely NO flexibility with work schedules and working remotely. Healthcare coverage is okay.
Staff positions receive teacher package
VERY happy with the benefits at SCAD. A wonderful work environment, plus tuition benefits. I earned my M.A. while working for the university!
Excellent health insurance, generous vacation, and the tuition benefit for employees is an incredible value add
Health insurance and 403b benefits seem fairly standard to me. The (potentially) most valuable benefit is the dependent tuition benefit.
