Employees of Seagate receive Paid Time Off (PTO).
Moved to "unlimited" vacation which is just a way to ensure company does not need to hold $$ in reserve. The end result is that people take less time off, not more
Unlimited vacation is very useful once you get used to it. A very good improvement to benefits.
Unlimited vacation (assuming approved by your manager). Could be good, unless you have a terrible boss. Paid company holidays as well.
Changing vacation time to flex time-off recently.
Flexible vacation program was implemented in early 2017. So no more accumulation of vacation hours. I don't know how employees have been using this flexible vacation program.
Moved away from vacation accrual to 'flex time', which is unlimited. Mgr does have the option to refuse requests for time off or ask that you be available while on leave, but seems like a good benefit.
Unlimited flexible vacation & paid time off
Seagate's benefits for paid vacations and time off are really very good, and they even combine floating paid company days off with holidays to give employees as much time off during Christmas holidays as possible.
Exempt employees: moving to flexible time off effective 5/1/17, where there is no fixed vacation accrual. Employees work with managers to take time off as needed. This provides more flexibility.
Terrible for most employees. 3wks for new employees with a maximum of 4wks for tenured employees
