It is an innovative package that tries to cover all levels of employee and interests.
By policy employees can use sick leave for medical appointments, but are encouraged to make appointments outside of work hours. So in reality, although part time employees earn sick time, they don’t have “equal” access to using it.
Children’s is a large organization and getting larger. It’s hard to find a “one size fits all” package for benefits. That said, moving from time off all in one bucket to having 4 different buckets has been challenging. Depending on what shift you work, you may or may not be able to fully use all your “off” allowance.
