In general, benefit packages seem to have gone downhill from most employers, but I've been impressed with the commitment SemanticBits has continued to make to providing a rich set of benefits. Most importantly, the company listens to employee feedback. Based on this feedback, SemanticBits has recently: converted the sick-time / vacation time to just paid time off (PTO); added a couple additional holidays to the company provided holidays; and provided a rich and cost-effective high-deductible health plan allowing contributions to a Health Savings Account (HSA). These changes are in addition to a benefits package that I think was already towards the high-end of what companies are providing these days.
- 3% 401k match, options are ok - 3 Weeks PTO includes sick leave, a bit low compared to industry standards - HSA plan is a plus - 10 paid holidays - Remote and flexible schedules are awesome - Maternity leave is not good - Paternity leave is 1 week - Company retreats are awesome - Healthcare plans are ok, but none are fully paid by the company, even for individuals - Free coffee (no free snacks or lunches other than at quarterly planning events)
Great Insurance available and several options. 401k contributions regardless if you contribute or not. Good vacation policy although not the best I've seen from other employers
In an environment where many big employers are only offering high deductible plans, SemanticBits offers VERY good low deductible plans (and HDP if you prefer). Remote work environment is very strong and mature.
