SMG provides PTO (Paid Time Off) to employees to provide more flexibility to use time off to meet personal needs. With PTO, employees accrue a specified amount of time each month, and determine how it will be used—for vacation, illness, attendance of children school activities, medical/dental appointments, personal business or emergencies. The amount of time earned will depend on the length of your service with SMG.
In addition to standard PTO, SMG provides qualified employees with an additional 5.5 paid days off each year around major holidays, and to allow employees to celebrate their birthdays. Between Memorial Day and Labor Day, employees have the opportunity to take advantage of “Summer Hours” and leave the office at noon on alternating Fridays
It's use it or lose it, with the exception of the 40 hours that can be carried over if used by March 15. I really wish they would either let us accrue or switch to unlimited. The office is dead from November through March with people trying to burn PTO before they lose it.
Even though they give privelage holdays you must stay in town. If not you must take PTO.
