Service and parts sales are great. 10% over cost on parts and half labor rates for service. getting a car deal is another story. As competitive as the car sales climate is we can get better deals outside our own company. Fluctuating incentives from the manufacturer make it where outside companies will sell cars at what looks like a loss on paper knowing they are getting rebates and kickbacks later. Company policy at Sewell is a flat rate amount which is probably better than average, but by no means a smoking "inside: deal you would expect an employee to get. Used cars are even worse, but with 2000 employees it is tough.
Don't feel comfortable saying what it is, but it is very nice if you are looking to get an immediate family member a vehicle.
There wasn't a literal employee discount at every location, but you did have access to some extra discounts on new cars. If you wanted a used car you just had to wait till it was over 30 days on the lot and then they could sell it to you for a fixed price over what Sewell owned the car for.
