We have maternity & paternity leave, but since we don't have any children I can't say how well it actually works in practice or how it compares to other companies.

You don't get maternity leave. You have to use your sick leave. When I had my son I was only an employee for a few years so I had not accumulated much sick leave. My VP however was great and allowed me to work from home as many hours as I could so that I could stay with my son longer than the sick leave I had.
