Health Insurance, Life Insurance, TSP matching up to 5% (govt version of 401k), pension, EAP, Flexible Spending Accounts, 13 days/yr vacation and about 2 weeks/yr sick. Pretty standard benefits package . Outside of the government you won't see pension very often so that's a nice bonus. Overall SSA and the federal govt take care of their employees, but the benefits package isn't anything extraordinary when compared with some private employers. The year I left they started adding more opportunities to telecommute/work from home part of the time which was cool, but in order to do it you had to agree to allow the feds to search your home at any time for any reason... sounds like a violation of my privacy, personally. Also had occasional performance bonuses, but the amount of money awarded for bonuses was a joke. Max I ever got was $1000 pre-tax and I was a kickass employee.
Medical,Dental, and Vision was provided many companies and plans to choose from. TSP is the 401k retirement plan matching at 3%.
Great benefits and they offer excellent bonuses.
good benefits but stressful workplae
There is a 401k plan and paid vacation and sick time. The starting salary is much lower than other agencies and the industry in general.
