At first you work awful hours. If I remember correctly I was working about 6 hour night shift 6 days a week at the beginning. After I gained experience and became a better CarHop I was able to ask for better shifts. I had a really understanding General Manager who allowed me to only work on weekends because I was in college. But after a new General Manager was hired she was having me work 10-12 hour shifts on the weekends.

Sonic is very flexible with scheduling, and every store has a book to request off dates/add schedule restrictions. And so long as you write it down in the book before the General Manager begins creating the schedule, you are practically guaranteed to get what you requested off(aside from the occasional sale day).

when working at Sonic, it is easy to get off of work if needed. You can ask people to work for you and, if it's important, you can just ask the manager if you can have a specific day off.

The managers are typically very great with your hours and they make it a fun, yet learning place to go to work everyday.

They worked with my high school schedule, but they didn't always listen to how many hours I wanted

Chances are your sonic will have so many employees, it's super easy to cover your shift but this also means you will have to leave early on a regular basis for labor reasons.

It's flexible to work around your school schedule but that's it. They don't usually let you off on time when you have other things to do like schoolwork or maybe club activities. They think you should be flexible to work around their schedule whenever you're not in class

If you're in high school, expect nights to be given priority for you. This is a business, and Sonic needs employees, so if your location is understaffed, and most are, then expect to work long, busy hours with little to no break.

I was very happy with my hours and we could switch other managers if someone had something come up that was important.
