Managers get irritated if you ask someone else to cover for your shift. Why bother asking?
Very flexible hours. If you request time off, you are pretty much guaranteed to get it (unless it is a holiday that everyone wants off). However, you generally cannot get away with calling in sick. If you can't work, you have to get someone to cover your shift or show up - no matter what. If not, you will be fired.
As long as you put in your days, you are very likely to get your time off. As for hours, just don't call in 2 hours before you come in. Try to stay on top of things, they will give you more hours if you need it.
Reduced and or flexible hours depends largely on the Store Manager and with no paid time off or vacation time, it is not feasible to reduce your hours. Burn out is common!
It's the only job that would work with my schedule
You have to plan your personal life around your schedule at this job.
Most of the GM's are really good at working wth your schedule and making sure you're off when you need to be.
They try to make the hours to accommodate everyone
They will work with you and be as flexible as you need to be if you are a student, but not as much if you have a second job
Only flexible if you have seniority or they have no choice.
