We have supportive parents that try to be involved with their student. Worse thing is inconsistent leadership and a principal that doesn’t support the staff and administrators that don’t care.
You get a great benefit package.

Benefits package is typical for a school district trying to save money. Health insurance increases every year with little change to benefits package. There is no maternity leave-its considered disability.
The Health Insurance Plan offered by TRS were very expensive, either way, deductible, out of pocket expenses, annual premium, etc.
Good Health Insurance Cost. 10 personal days is plenty for any emergency/doctor appointments, etc..
The best part is the amount of days off. While non-teaching positions do work during the summer and school holidays are factored into contact days, you still get around 15 extra days off through sick leave, pto, and non-duty days (extra days scheduled beyond contacted number of days). The worse part is the cost of health insurance, especially to cover children and/or spouse.
I did not participate in their benefits package. I have insurance through my husband's company and he contributes to his 401K.
Good benefits for employees and family.
No 401K matched for the employees is a negative. It is reasonable to insure yourself but horribly overpriced to insure your spouse.
List based on reports from current and former employees. It may not be complete.
