    The management almost always gives time off. When you are not working a day or two, they might call you in if they are busy. If you can't make it in they are OK, and look for someone else.

    Company just cut sick pay for 2018. All sick pay totals reset to zero as of Jan 1, 2018. This is the time of year the sick pay is needed most. Vacation pay accrues at a slow rate.
