I love the health insurance that St. Jude offers. It's not expensive and the coverage is fantastic.

There is not set amount of days you get a year. You "earn" hours of vacation for every X amount of hours you work. The more years you have with them, the more you accrue. The maximum you can roll over from one fiscal year to the next is 240 hours I think?

403(b). Good. 7% of your salary after first year.

On my orientation day, I was STUNNED **IN THE BEST WAY** when I learned that I would accrue 3 weeks of vacation, 1 week of personal sick leave, and 1 week of family sick leave in the FIRST YEAR of my employment. Then they told me, my insurance was going to start as soon as I signed up for it. Then as a single mom of 1, I cried happy tears. NOW, as a married woman and mom of 4, I am so very thankful for all of the amazing benefits St. Jude offers. The gym on campus is great for getting a workout in on my lunch break. The onsite clinic is wonderful if I need to go get checked out for something, pick up my Rx and I don't have to worry about it taking up any family time. I love that SJ cares about me and my health, so I can be good for them and good for my family.

St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is the best company I have ever worked for in the past 30 years. They provide excellent benefits in order to attract the top employees for their work to continue Danny Thomas' vision that "No child should die in the dawn of life".

St. Jude had some of the best benefits I have ever seen. They contribute 7% of your salary to your 401b after your first year regardless of how much you contribute yourself, so that's a huge plus! Supplemental life and disability insurance is also offered and pretty affordable. Tuition reimbursement is about $5,000 a year, a little on the lower side but still a perk. I will say that vision insurance, as is the case at most places, is ok at best. The entire cost of your glasses is not guaranteed, only up to $160 is covered plus your eye exam. As most of us vision impaired people know, glasses can easily run at the very least $200, with averages around $300! So that is the only major gripe I have. Otherwise, the roughly $200/month I pay for the benefits is entirely worth it. Overall excellent benefits package.
