There are a lot of resources at Stanford, and they give you funds each year for professional development. But they don't have as many "freebies" as a tech company would have

Great coverage, on all plans
You get 2 weeks off at Christmas, but depending on your role you will be on-call for them.
College benefit for dependents is like no other. Once you obtain 5 years of continuous, full time employment in a permanent position Stanford will pay 50% of the current tuition and registration rates at Stanford to any US accredited college or university! Free gym access and their employee wellness program is also pretty nice.
