Stanford University offers retirement plans.
matching contribution and also when you retire i think the university adds to your pension -- you should confirm but i recall coworkers who made sure they retired at stanford
As far as I know retirement benefit is unmatched in Bay Area - up to 10% of the salary contributed towards the 401k which adds up to a hefty sum. University does a good job encouraging contributions.
The retirement plan is good but could be better. Stanford can't match the pay of other silicon valley companies, so they should give more for retirement.
They contribute up to 10% which is great compared to other employers in the area!
They will match up to 5% of your salary (10% of your salary after 1 year) to a fidelity 401K plan.
There is a match to the retirement plan after having worked for 1 full year
It is ok. The company they use is a bit corrupt and they often default to making you contribute to their plan which is bad because the investment company does not perform well.
10% matching is pretty good.
Will match up to 4% contribution. Not as good as some of my previous employers who matched 6 - 10%.
Good 401 program with contribution matching to a max percentage.
