Stanford University grants paid time off for vacations, jury duty, military leave, personal time, voting, floating holidays, sabbaticals (for faculy), and sick leave.
Lots of time off. Winter closer is the best thing about working here. Sick time is very generous.
30 days and unlimited sick
Vacation benefits are great. I believe people in their first year get 3 weeks off, and 9 paid holidays. Those in year 2-5 get 4 weeks off. This is in addition to an extra 3 days of PTO and floating holiday, as well as the 2 week winter closure for Christmas and New Year's. Again, since there is no standardization across the university, your actual ability to take vacation will vary greatly. Some departments do not approve vacations at all and make it very difficult for their employees to take time off, oftentimes guilting employees to work more than their own faculty.
One vacation day and sick day accrued a month, capping out at a yearly limit. Some labs also do not track vacation allowing for even more time off if arranged with the PI.
After several years of service, you can get up to 24 days off plus time during Winter break
15 vacation days, 10 civic holidays, 3 personal days and it's closed for 2 weeks during the Christmas holiday. Once you've been employed for 1 year, you get 20 vacation days. You won't find better time off anywhere.
to start 10 days of vacation time, 12 days of sick time/year.
3 weeks of vacation is great
This is a dependent on your PI, not the school.
Vacation time off is based on years of service with a maximum of 240 hours that can be accrued. Paid Time Off is 24 hours per year. There are also paid holidays, a floating holiday, winter closure between fall and winter academic quarters, and unlimited accrual of paid sick time.
