Great healthcare benefits for employees and dependents. They also have a number of perks like gym reimbursement and One Medical membership.

The best thing was unlimited vacation. The worst was that there was no 401k match offered at the company.

Stash, the company itself, offers an above average perks and benefits package. As long as you do your work, you can WFH when needed (no questions asked), they care about the well being of their employees on a personal level, and the PTO is flexible within reason. I've never been rejected for any time off requests. You're expected to put in some time and get your job done - but there has never been an issue getting time off to sort out your personal affairs or take some extended long weekends or 2+weeks of vacation. It's such a wonderful system that you never see anyone abuse. Do your work for them and they do their work for you. You get, if applied for, transit compensation and given a credit card to expense your metro cards pre tax. Medical Co pays are dirt cheap and the health insurance is nothing to complain about. Socially wise; They offer kegs of beer that us employees can vote on for the ones we will receive. Catered lunches on Friday, happy hours on Thursdays, loads of healthy snacks, and the HR/People department have no issue ordering any computer peripherals or accessories you need to do your job.. There are also Kegs of cold brew coffee and fridges stocked with all sorts of tasty beverages. If you happen to vibe with some of cliques and close knit circle of tech employees (good luck), then there are tons of outings outside of work they embark on with high frequency, The worst parts about working at Stash have nothing to do with Stash as a company itself and how much they value and treat their employees. I've only had a few jobs in the past that come close to treatment you get here. Stash, the company and people side of things do an amazing job making you feel welcomed and amazing place to work. Most the the negativities or complaints people have are nothing related to how the company treats you. The only complaint company wise I can think of is that promotions and raises haven't been ironed out yet. We have been told HR/People resources are working hard on getting a scheme in place. Not me personally - but there have been several people with over a year under there belt with no raises, no promotions, while being asked to be patient while they devise that type of employee enhancement. Regardless - while the company wants you to work and put in your time and effort, they have been super chill about not micro managing your arrival times or requested time off. Do your work and the company looks out for you. That being said - that is the company itself - which is amazing. The tech on-boarding and leadership can be rather meh if you don't mesh well with the ego cliques that have been forming, Overall company and benefits - top notch. Amazing place to work. The one thing that highly surprised me was the corporate approach to holidays and holiday time off. Very corporate minimal holiday schedule. Luckily the who flexible PTO and WFH options can help with the lack of real holiday time off.

Thank you so much for your feedback here! We definitely try to ensure that we are taking very good care of our people and I appreciate your candor. As mentioned at the Engineering All Hands a week ago, People Ops's #1 priority is working to ensure that we have structure around levels, career ladders, promotions and raises. This is not something that I take lightly at all and we are heavily focused on building it. We have grown by over 600% since I joined last year, and we too are building everything (in terms of People Ops) from the ground up, to support you and our entire workforce. There have absolutely been raises and promotions on engineering, but we want to ensure that we do this the right way, so I have absolutely asked for time to build a better structure so people feel the process is fair and clear. Considering that approximately 3/4th of the team were new in 2018, I don't feel like this is too much to ask--it's a massive undertaking! With holidays, we do indeed follow the market--part of entering the world of banking--like most fintech/financial services companies, so sadly there isn't much we can do there. This is all to say that my door is always open if you want to offer any ideas, suggestions, things you've seen done well elsewhere etc! I think we are all aligned in wanting Stash to be the absolute best place to come to work every day! Thank you again for your thoughts here. Best, Natalie Ledbetter VP of People Operations

Great benefits except health insurance for partner, not great.

There is no 401(k). Employees get generous stock options. The health insurance is average. I like the HDHP option which is HSA compatible. There is an unlimited vacation policy.
