The State of Arizona has a great benefits package. The medical is awesome, even with the increases recently and you cant beat a pension over a 401k
The best thing about the benefits with this company is that it is complete with everything you could want.
The State matches all of our retirement contributions dollar for dollar after 10 years of employment. The only setback is that contribution is mandatory and seems to increase often, resulting in a smaller net pay. Also, medical insurance coverage became more costly this year with the implementation of deductibles on top of copays. The benefits here are just not what they used to be.
Great benefits comparatively, however working for any of the state or local offices 11.50+ percent of salary goes to retirement account, mandatory and that can hurt on a small salary. Medical/dental/vision $200 a month, $200 deductible, estimate (depends on plan this is very basic but good) then out of pocket 30-40 per visit on most appts.
Pension is great. Great healthcare benefits.!frxible work schedules and relaxe d environment
good health insurance, lots of options for insurance, good copays. New option for telemedicine appointments
Insurance is good, paid time off and sick days are more than enough.
The reason people choose to work for the State is for the benefits and retirement.
expensive, not much of a choice if you have a family
Benefits start almost immediately, no waiting period. The worst thing I'd probably the hiring process is very long. Another bad thing is they fo not hire smart people
