    Employees have ability to see their accruing benefits over time.

    The PERS is taken out of your paycheck automatically and it takes five years to get vested. This is the same as working for CCSD. The downfall is that it is quite a chunk of money taken out of your monthly income if you choose to have this.

    good pension plan if vested..this is after 10 years for pension...but vested after 5...prior to that time, if you leave, you get your money back to invest in another plan if you choose

    PERS..... after 30 years you get 65 to 70% of what your making. retire at age 60 or 61. peace officer even sooner.
