Sick days roll over from year to year so you can bank days. this is very helpful in case one needs surgery or medical procedures, I can still get paid while I heal.

Flexible scheduling with managers for sick days off. It's very convenient, and it accrues quickly. If you're on state, you can cash in your sick days for health benefits cost reduction later.

The best thing is you do not need to go to labs to do your work and experiments during sick days. The worse thing is that you may get a lot assignments and papers delayed.

I believe you can rack in over 200 sick days, and at some point over 200 you have to start using them. Pretty sweet deal.

  • Mar 06, 2017
StarStarStarStarStar Current Senior Research Support Specialist in Stony Brook, New York State

Good sick day policy, particularly as much as 200 sick days can be transferred to next year. About 4 weeks of sick days a year.

Sick days are generous but the problem is they are rarely used given your job.
