Get a few sick days but don't get paid the same amount when you take them.

No matter how sick you are, you have to be the one calling them and ask for a leave. Your parents cannot do that on your behalf. Basically, I was sick this one time that I was in the hospital and not in any position to talk so my dad called my manager to tell her that I would not be able to come to work and I got in trouble for it.

Sick days are offered but the message is clear that it's bad to get sick.
