Job training begins with online videos that outline the company's philosophy of education and practical training for working within the company. After that, you observe another teacher while they tutor a table of kids. Finally, you take over your own table of kids to tutor.
Job Training was provided, but it was unpaid. The employee doesn't get paid for this time until they have worked at Sylvan for 6 months to a year. If you leave before that, you don't get paid for that time.
There was some job training, most of the learning was on the job.
Directors are very thorough on how to read and give testing.
Was essentially online videos telling me exactly what I needed to do.
The best thing about the Job training is that the training is paid. This is usually typical for most trainings. but its still nice.
The job and curriculum training was done through a corporate website.
Online training courses can get VERY repetitive but video training is alternated with on-the-job shadowing.
The training is all online. It is lengthy and boring but helpful for new hires.
