Time off is great, there is a floating holiday every year which you can use as PTO. Sick leave and PTO are in the same pool of time off so you can use it for either category you choose.
Vacation time accrues at 3 weeks a year from year 1 to 5 and then at 4 weeks a year from 5 on. Typical holidays include New Years, Memorial Day, 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving + day after, Christmas, and a floating holiday.
They only offer PTO, which is a change from firms offering both vacation and sick leave. So most feel that they sacrifice at least a week of time off. But there is a plus, which is that you no longer have to decide whether leave is really sick leave or vacation. And they cap you at 18 days per year. So vacation benefits are a bit less than other firms.
Their plan is better than most.
It looks good on paper only. In actuality they do not expect you to use it ever. If you do, they will figure out a way to harass you and eventually fire you.
Starts at 3 weeks PTO
not enough vacation days; decent pto policy
The amount of days is good, but you will use most of it when business is slow, and not when you would like to have time off. By force I might add.
Quite a lot of PTO, but not enough people working for the company to be able to take long leave.
You can't use it for an actual vacation. Best thing you can do is hope for a snowstorm that shuts down construction for the week, but they still expect you to check-in IN PERSON each day (on your own dime, they don't give you company vehicles to take home) and then go home if no work calls in by 9:00am.
