As being a Graduate Assistant is a part time job at most schools, you get paid decently well and your health insurance is covered which is a huge plus for an international student like me who has to pay a mandatory health insurance fee of $900+. This position not only pays well but the health insurance waiver is a huge weight off of your shoulders. Overall great place to work and the benefits are great for this particular position in my opinion.
I am working as a part-time so I don't have enough knowledge about the benefits and packages.
Flexibility is the best thing
There aren't any benefits offered.
Health Insurance and Paid time off
They do offer to pay for your classes, But you wouldnt get payment as GA
The insurance covers 80% and then there is a copay. The Universiy has a clinic you can visit and the staff is friendly.
Overall good experience working here,Never faced any difficulties working here. The management is very cooperative towards you and will help in all the way to succeed.
The best thing is plenty of time off, about 14 holidays plus 12 vacation and 12 sick days a year. The worst thing is you are forced to put into the Texas Teachers Retirement plan, which sucks.
BCBCTX is good. TRS is good.
