I would like more than 1 choice for a Vision Plan.
Health insurance, 401K, sick leave, vacation leave
The benefit here is good. Health insurance is OK. There is paid vacation leave and sick leave. The benefit is much better than the company I worked before.
The worst thing is that the States Retirement plan comes out of your check whether you like it or not! So, between taxes and the retirement plan. Your check has a deduction of $600 or more. So the promised monthly salary goes done from $2460.00 to 1960.00 and you only get paid the first of every month. Honestly, that is a hard salary to live on with two kids.
the insurance is good and it's one of the only jobs left with a pension plan--they have a pretty high match percentage.
Having worked in the private sector again after leaving the State in 2015, I can tell you that the benefits package available to all full time state employees is almost not available anywhere in the current private job market.
The benefits were great. I didn't realize Texas had so many state holidays.
Typical state benefit package 401k, medical, dental, tuition reimbursement, pto, sick leave, pension, retirement etc.
Great benefits, there are a lot of packages to choose from.
401k, Free Health Care, Paid Time off, Pay raise every 2 years, all federal and state holidays and sometimes bonus days off!
List based on reports from current and former employees. It may not be complete.
