The benefits package was awesome!
health insurance, vacation, and time off are fine. 401k is too few
Gym reimbursement of 200 per year, great insurance (they pay for vision).
The benefits package at Gladstone is excellent. They have 401b & a plans. Two options for health insurance. Vision and dental. Vacation and sick leave accrued at about 10hrs a month each. Will refund education fees (as long as the classes are directly related to your position) and gym membership fees (only $80 a year).
dental insurance covers a lot!
Good 401k plan and pretty good health insurance. PTO was adequate.
Postdoc salary and benefits are better than UCSF and well above NIH minimum. (Granted, the Bay Area is so expensive that it still doesn't make it comparable to getting the NIH minimum in place with an average cost of living, but it's the best you'll do as a postdoc in the Bay Area). Also the maternity leave policy is better than most other places (not sure what it's like at UCSF though).
good thing is comprehensive benefits packages. bad part is that SF is expensive place to live, so most postdocs need more benefit to survive.
