Home Depot grants vacation, personal days, and paid company holidays.
Vacation time is given based on years of service and paid time off is earned through the amount of hours you work each week
You get more weeks added at certain years of employment. You have a year to use your vacation time.
Sucks for part time worker
You can qualify for vacation and PTO even if you are part-time
Part time employees get vacation and sick leave. There is an easy process to request time off and to call in sick if needed.
The amount is fine, but be careful about changing from part- to full-time positions because vacation is prorated not only for the year you switch (your vacation time isn't adjusted during the year you switch), but also the year after (shorting you hours depending on how far from your anniversary), depending on when you took the full-time position.
Great vacation, and leave for parents
You have to wait an entire year for vacation pay. I found that to be extreme, I am used to jobs that have had vacation and sick leave available after probation. Probation is a year for THD.
Salaried gets 1 week personal time a year, regardless of time in position, 1 week vacation at first year, 2 weeks from 2-5 years, 3 weeks 5-15 years, 4 weeks 15-20 years, then 5 weeks
The best is thing is that they give you vacation time frequently but the con is that you can never use it when you need it since there are large restrictions on when you can take it off and how long
