With a fully staffed management team, there are flexible hours
the best was being able to switch shifts pretty easy, but it was hard to find people to actually do it.
Pretty easy to get shifts covered/time off.
You have to find someone to cover your shift if you want to call out or need to request a day off
There are 40 hours available for paid sick time. Schedules are every two weeks so if time off is requested you have time to put in that request.
Manager was great about having a changing college schedule
The hours are very flexible for people who need to work part time.
For management its just a straight 40 hours per week. You are never allowed to go over 40 hours.
Scheduling was fairly flexible while the store manager was doing the schedules. she paid close attention to our availability and did her best to accommodate time requests off. Once the assistant manager took over, it was obvious that she paid no attention to availability as many of us got scheduled during school hours or on days where I had marked unavailable. Also, scheduling was pretty inconsistent. Sometimes, I didn't get a schedule until 3 days before that work week, when they were suppose to be posted a week and a half in advance.
You could almost always get your shift covered, as almost all the employees were looking for extra money. Getting time off for vacation is a pain though.
