Impressive benefits package of all companies
As a currently serving Army Reservist, I'm so grateful for Tilson's generous paid military leave benefit. Any Reserve or National Guard member knows that 1 weekend a month and 2 weeks a year is the absolute minimum they will serve, which places a lot of stress on individuals, families and employers. Tilson covers 15 days of paid military leave a year, ensuring that Annual Training plus an additional 40hrs a year is fully paid. I'm so grateful for Tilson's support of those who continue to serve. It's not easy but it's definitely easier when your team and senior leaders support you.
Great benefit package right out of the gate!
Appreciated the three weeks PTO on day one. Very strong health plan, the company covered my personal costs and around 60% of my family’s costs. My share has gone down or stayed flat for the last four years. Company recently upped their continuation to my HSA. The parental (paid), military (paid), and family leave policies are very generous. I have not had to use them but have seen many employees use them. I knew it was different when I saw male tower climbers on paid parental leave. 401k is an additional 3% of my comp even when I don’t contribute. The plan itself is very efficient, I saw that the expense ratio is 0.11% which since I’m young now will make a huge difference by retirement. Management spends a lot of time working to improve these, it gets better every year.
Benefits are okay, pto is a use or lose policy which worked in 1999 but not 2020, if employees don’t use there pto then pay them for it. We’ve earned the time, you can say all day we encourage you to take pto but we all know the real answer is you are too cheap to pay it out.
Comprehensive package, medical and dental eligible soon after hire and 401K automatically enrolled after waiting period. Wellness program and admin is a work in progress. PTO cannot roll over at all, no personal days and paid holidays could be more.
The leave policy is very flexible and generous. Good healthcare plans that are heavily subsidized by employer, and my premiums have actually gone down every year for the past four years. I take the free LTD/STD/life insurances. PTO @ 3-weeks day one is nice. 401k has employer paying an additional 3% of salary regardless of my contribution, and the plan itself is super efficient.
Amazing benefits and each year they get better and better based on employee requests, industry comparison and the company's commitment to excellence. They just increased the parental leave, military leave, caregiver leave and a created a gradual return-to-work if you've been away for a period of time. I love how this company makes real changes to support all the different life experiences its employees may have. Really proud to work here.

They are over generous with PTO and Health Insurance. This possibly causes lack of funds for basic salary.
