StarStarStarStarStar Current Metro editor in Baltimore, Maryland

Despite being told four weeks is the max available, there are still senior editors who definitely take as many as six weeks a year. And we don't get paid any overtime, just comp days that we have to beg to use.

StarStarStarStarStar Current Associate Producer in Los Angeles, California

You get two weeks paid. That's pretty standard. The rough part of this industry is that when you're young there's a strong chance you'll work every major holiday. You end up getting "floating" holidays for working on holidays, which you can take anytime. So really, if you don't want to work on holidays, don't get into news. Pretty unavoidable.
