Best thing about job training was that it was pretty easy to learn the register. The worst thing about job training was that I was poorly trained on all other areas.

It all depends on the managers some are great teachers others are impatient ogres believing your a waste of time ...If a manger asks for you to interview to become a key holder and you pass the interview...Get it in writing .
I was learning the cashier and key holder so I was training for both at the same time. I had a key to front door once I was trained. I was the Manager on Duty when the SM and AM were not working.
I got trained on register, I was not just thrown to the wolves.
There is not a lot of training, however, the pos system is so outdated that it is extremely easy to learn.
It was very brief, they showed me how to do returns from the register and how to process checks and make the register work.
Job training was wonderful and my manager made it fun. and a good person to work for
The job training wasn't extensive, but it covered the basics of what you have to know about everything.
They will train you on the basics of Retail.
