Even though the pay was fair the perk was the health insurance, 401k, the vacation and personal time. Also other perks of the job. A discount for purchasing computers and a vehicle. You also got a free phone (mine was a brand new galaxy S5 at the time) and service that was great for free.

Really great benefits, at least when I worked there. I heard they are still the same. Some people complained about base salaries being a bit lower than industry average. However, USCC offered excellent benefits including health, dental, life insurance, etc. Moreover, they were one of the last companies I heard of that offered a great 401K match, plus a pension, plus stock rewards for good performance. And discounted stock buys. Overall, if you're looking for a long-term company that would - if you were a long-term employee - make for a very comfortable retirement, this would be a company to consider.
