    You can work at any time of the day depending on your research. This flexible was very important to me due to my hectic schedule.

    Generally staff are expected to work 8-5 with a 1 hour unpaid lunch. But it depends on each difference department and on your manager whether you can change that schedule. Many people work different schedules in order to carpool, or change their schedule in the summer because it's slower. But it depends on your position, and the needs of your department.

    In general, you work when you want to be it day, night, weekdays, weekends and even holidays. There can be restrictions, e.g. certain facilities are only open during the day.

    As a part-time tutor, it was very nice to have a complete control of your hours and work schedule. It was also nice that you get the fixed schedule for the whole quarter around my class schedules, which was more predictable and easier to plan my day
