Overall great benefits package. Option of pension of retirement saving plan. Employees are required to contribute between 7-9%, but it is well worth it for the retirement benefit you get in return.
Excellent health care options. PPO, Quality HMO and even Kaiser offered (if you consider thay health care) PTO and sick bank plus a pension plan vested at 5 years.
Amazing 401k, paid vacation time during the year ;)
For medical insurance, Kaiser is very reasonable. The premium for vision and dental are free, and they have option of pension plan instead of 401k.
The pay rates are typically above market
The Benefits Package is very good. Your pension you have to make it through 5 years of working at UCSD to qualify for this. All in all the benefits is very good!!!
Benefits are good. There are a lot of places to go within the network.
They are cutting the traditional pension plan and putting it under a new name. Healthcare costs are increasing, which use to be the only reason to work here.
The fact that they offer a pension is a huge plus, although you need to wait five years until vested. For a healthcare organization, the health benefits are not all that great. The premiums are quite expensive if you don’t want to be on Kaiser.
Good benefit options, and extremely helpful Benefits Dept. staff who were willing to help in any way needed.
