Good retirement plans for postdocs
The UC generously matches toward retirement
Best thing: it actually exists!
great plans for retirement and matching
UCSD provides a very good and competitive health insurance, the salary is very good and increases every year, vacation and paid time off, retirement plan very interesting
The best thing is the matching. They take a mandatory 9% out of your paycheck to contribute to the retirement plan and then match 14%, which is the highest matching I've ever heard of.
Defined benefit plan is unusual and good, though it was downgraded in 2013 from the plan I had.
no match, taken from self pay check
UCSD does NOT match employee contributions, and they have not for many years now. Hopefully by the time I retire I will be able to afford to live in San Diego on my retirement. I doubt it though - since I cannot afford it now, while I am working full time.
Decent retirement plan and matching.
