No idea, I did not use it but it is available
It is a solid benefit and they also offer a great more general family and medical leave plan for conditions other than maternity leave.
Its just so much work to fill out the paperwork and not very helpful
It varies between unions. What I will say, though, is that men should definitely take their "bonding" leave, i.e. paternity leave. It's yours, it's federally mandated, take it!
You can get 6 weeks (vaginal) or 8 weeks (c-section) short-term disability time at 70% your salary. After that you can use unused vacation time. However you can have unto 12 weeks off total.
You can use accrued sick time off but the benefit is what is required by law.
Only for non temporary hires
As a graduate student there aren't clearly defined rules, so you can be flexible if your lab head is willing and open.
The maternity/paternity leave is 6 weeks unpaid. This seems like too little!
Its 6 weeks of maternity leave with 70% pay. not a lot.
