Lots of choices, emphasis on using UC only can be offputting if you use other providers in San Francisco -- Sutter or Dignity Health

Very glad I have Kaiser as an option. I had HealthNet Blue and Gold my first year here, and it was a complete nightmare. It took 4-6 weeks to see a provider, and test were often denied by insurance. I don't have this problem as a Kaiser member. I tried to be loyal to my employer and use UCSF, but I find Kaiser is a much better plan for me.

Sometimes the daunting array of choices for the benefits package confused me. You have to take your time to study all the options and configurations in order to make sure you pick the right package for your needs.
