UFG offers a flexible and comprehensive package of benefits, along with valuable work and family programs. These benefits can help employees attain their retirement savings and career goals, as well as help to meet their everyday needs. Our programs are designed to allow you to tailor a benefits package that best meets the unique needs of you and your family.
UFG still offers a pension plan which not many employers still do, it takes time to buy in to the plan, but offering a pension at all was much appreciated. Vacation planning, flexible schedules, and a reasonable health-care package were all reasons I feel content with the benefits offered at UFG.
UFG is one of the few companies that still has a pension plan. The company has a 401k plan (including a Roth option), although the match into the 401k is small (1%). The company has a tiered vacation schedule based on years of service. When you start at UFG you get 40 hours of PTO. They also offer a floating holiday and your birthday. The remaining holidays are your standard days off (Christmas, Christmas Eve, Thanksgiving, Labor Day, etc. ) In Cedar Rapids, Iowa they have a free to access for employees and spouses Fitness Center (UFIT).
Pension, pension, pension!!! UFG is competitive with all other benefits offered.
Benefits are decent... - On-site gym, fabulous fitness instructor - Allot of little things that are nice: free ice cream during ice cream week, chex mix Fridays, fresh fruit Mondays - Maternity leave is 2 weeks, then you use short term disability paid at 60% of your pay (you can supplement with PTO - Insurance covers $500 of infertility treatments - Medical plans changed to high deductible plans - PTO isn't great starting out and you accrue. You should negotiate for more when you are offered a position and ask for a week banked in advance - Typical paid holidays, except you will get Good Friday off
Great benefits and great company
Very good benefits, pension and 401K. Good choices of benefit levels or medical savings plans. Offer medical, dental, and vision plus optional life, disability and catastrophic coverage. Company pays a large portion of the covered benefits. Paid vacation and sick days.
The benefits were great 401k health, dental, and vision.
They now offer flexible work hours and parental leave
Health insurance is good. They still have a pension, which is good if you are going to be there a long time. There is a 401k, but they do not match contributions (because they have a pension).
They match what you pay.
