Part time positions are not eligible for benefits. However you have control over how much you work with a 8 hour per week minimum and a 20 hour per week maximum.

The state health insurance is good and the retirement plan is generous. You have to work for at least 5 years for it to kick into full effect.

State insurance is not great, but it covers many cases. For the health care, one can choose an option with very low (close to zero) premium. Standard dental and vision is available and can be purchased separately.

Since the job was only part-time, there was no benefits package. By having the job on-campus, you are already provided health insurance through the school.

Health insurance (Blue Cross Blue Shield) is free for employee, but close to $600 a month for family ($300 per pay period). Life insurance is cheap, dental insurance is $40-80 a month, free vision insurance gives you 1 vision check a year. Pays for 3 classes a year in UNC school system.

Excellent opportunity to further your education with tuition reimbursement. Being on campus eliminates travel time to school after work,
