Great medical/dental benefits at a reasonable price. Accumulate good PTO.
Benefits are easy to understand and very clear about what is covered and what isn't. Other benefits like perks are very generous.
Good benefits, dental, 401k match, term insurance
Few options - lower cost options
Great benefits, lots of time off offered as promised. The challenge is getting time to take the PTO.
good 401k, culture, and people
Provides needed coverage. Expensive and not as hood as they brag. You are told that your visit is covered but then they charge you for something that is shocking and not covered (I.e. the poke required to give blood). Vision insurance does not cover basic lenses as well as they say as you cannot get lenses for the price they pay unless you get them online..
The benefits are okay. Even the top tier medical plan has a high office copay. They given you a limited amount for tuition assistance.
401k, PTO, vision, medical, dental
The retirement benefits were good in that they matched up to 3% if your investment. There was lots of professional training opportunities and room for advancement. There were opportunities to participate in professional committees. Some downsides: They used to offer monetary incentives for picking up extra shifts but they did away with those which led to lots of shifts that were understaffed. The health benefits were terrible especially considering part of the business of UPMC (aside from hospitals) is their insurance plan. I was grateful to have the option to switch to my husband’s plan at his work because even the highest level plan available to UPMC nurses was horrendous- poor coverage - limited services- high deductibles and they initially deny claims - even simple claims such as albuteral for my asthmatic son. Once you dispute the denial, they do end up covering but you have to jump through lots of hoops. Time off is earned as PTO time which of census is low and they downsize for the day you have to use it.
