Tricare is a government-overseen HMO and can be unwieldy to deal with. However, as an active duty member, it is free.

The underlying provider seems to change from year-to-year. Also the provider network is not the best, I find myself driving 50+ miles to find in-network providers.
The best thing about the medical benefits for the military, is they are all FREE! Anything you want. PRK, or just the general checkup. Look no further!
