The medical and dental available is excellent. I've never had to pay out of pocket. The new retirement system wasnt the greatest but if you can really be aggressive it could pay out.
Great benefits and paid time off (30 days per year) and 12 weeks maternity leave, 3 weeks paternity leave. Wish there were more flexibility to be able to scale up and down, i.e. 3-4 days a week instead of full-time.

The active duty benefits are a huge benefit to enlisted personnel, who typically receive significantly lower pay than officers. Everyone receives 2.5 days of paid-time-off a month, which equates to 30 days a year. After moving up in the ranks you become eligible for BAH, which can double the income of low ranking enlisted personnel.
