Both TSP and Federal Retirement Plans available with 5% matching.
best thing about retirement it builds as long as your working and it will be there when you get to retire or when you take a early retirement.
As far as pensions go its ok. The VA does match up to 5% plus 1% automatic for 401k. Retirement is based upon: annual salary X .01 or 0.011 (retire after 62)X # years of service.
Excellent retirement plan. A definite draw for most employee whom work for VA. Both Federal retirement and Thrift Savings plan with employer matching fund program.
I did not work with the VA long enough to benefit from their retirement plan but as with all federal agencies after a specified period of time and once you meet the required age limit you are able to retire.
Appreciate the pension plan since the private sector has already outperformed me in salary with my time in and experience
Hear it is wonderful, but I don't really know alot about it. It is one reason people flock to the VA.
you can get your retirement and get a paycheck to and still work there that why i wont to go back to the hospal work draw blood on patient.l
Phenomenal to me. I pay in x dollars. Govt puts in 3x dollars/pay period. This is then put into an annuity when you separate. Previous employer had nothing like it. Put in very safe investments so not huge , but its significant over time
Same as 401k plan, look at previous answer
