Good health benefits - high out of pocket costs, good 401-K match
Health benefits are good, but costs have been slowly increasing.
Good health insurance. New hire 401k matching seems competitive. Upcoming additional employee benefits yet to be announced.
One of the few amazing things that I cannot neglect to mention is effectively unlimited sick leave...however, if you were to take advantage of this good faith, it would go very poorly very quickly. The High Deductible Health Plan is okay for those without expected medical expenses, but with monthly prescriptions and a beat-up-on body that needs physical therapy, I pay nearly all out of pocket. Also, we just recently moved from starting at 2 weeks PTO to 3 weeks. The majority of my friends work for companies that start at 3-4 weeks, and go up from there. Perhaps that's *progressive*, but it's also what is necessary and, quite frankly, more effective.
401k match up to 3%. Pension for self and pension for spouse. Cadillac medical plan (very good). Various discounts for employees and fitness memberships. FSA offer. And more. Worst: Vacation time takes years to accumulate. 1 week for 1 year service, 2 for 2 years, and 3 weeks for 8 years of service. 4 weeks after 17 years and 5 weeks for 25 years of service plus two paid personal days. There are no sick days.
UP has an average benefits package.
New hires get 3 weeks of vacation, 4 weeks at 10 years, and 5 weeks at 20 years. Pension has been replaced with a larger contribution to 401K. Health care premiums are reasonable but increasing. Yearly cost of living adjustments are given. Bonuses and retention stock are offered to employees performing satisfactorily.
