Unlike most jobs today the benefits still fully paid by the company. Union workers currently don’t pay for healthcare and their pension is fully funded by the company. You can additionally contribute to a 401k yourself if you like.

Very low cost health insurance and a nice 401k match are great. On the negative side you need to work 15 years to earn a 4th week of vacation and the 401k doesn't vest at all until 3 years.

Very competitive benefits package, but different plans for the union represented workers and management/staff.

401k plans may permit "self-directed investment accounts" and company stock purchase within the plan. Employee contributions to the plan are not subject to federal income taxes until a distribution from the plan is made. ... The employer can receive certain tax benefits for contributions
