    They could do more for those individuals who are not a great fit for the state pension plan and who opt for the 401 plan instead.

    I opted out since I'm just a student, but you're stuck in OPERS payments during summers when you aren't taking classes.

    Best thing is that it is a retirement plan. The worst thing is that it is mandatory 12% contribution while matching only 9%.
